충청남도 서천군 장항읍]에 있는 한솔제지 장항공장 전경. 지난해 초 폭설에 지붕이 무너졌다가 지난 5월 가동을 재개했다./사진=한솔제지한솔제지의 올 2분기 매출과 영업이익이 모두 전년 동기보다 두 자릿수 감소했다. 가뜩이나 제지업계 업황도 좋지 않은데 가격 경쟁까지 심해진 영향이다. 폭설에 지붕이 무너졌던 장항 공장 가동이 재개돼 힘을 보탰지만 악재가 호재를 덮어버렸다. 한솔제지는 2분기 연결 기준 잠정 매출 5280억원, 영업이익 151억원을 거뒀다고 지난 2일 공시했다. 전년 동기보다 각각 17.3%, 73.3% 감소한 수치다. 당기 순이익은 69억원으로 81.4% 줄었다. 연결 기준 실적에는 한솔아메리카와 한솔유럽 등 계열사들의 실적이 포함됐다. 한솔제지만 놓고 보면 2분기 매출 4989억원, 영업이익 154억원을 거뒀다. 전년 동기보다 각각 12.9%, 74.9% 줄었다. 항목별로 보면 한솔제지의 인쇄용지 매출이 1525억원으로 전년보다 3% 줄었다. 판매량은 10만톤으로 26.2% 줄었다. 산업용지는 매출이 1292억원으로 전년보다 22.6% 줄었다. 판매량은 15만톤으로 20.9% 감소했다. 인쇄용지와 비교하면 매출 감소가 판매량 감소에 비해 과하게 크다. 지난해 특정 업체가 백판지 생산 설비를 공격적으로 늘렸고, 그 물량이 올 상반기 시장에 본격적으로 풀리면서 가격이 큰폭 하락한 탓이다. 한솔제지는 지난해 2월 폭설에 지붕이 무너져 복구공사를 하던 충남 서천 장항공장이 지난 5월 가동을 재개했다. 인쇄용지, 특수지, 감열지 등 주력 제품을 생산하는 3개 공장 중 한곳인데 판매량 감소 등 악재가 호재를 덮어버린 양상이다. 한솔제지 관계자는 "극심한 실물경기 침체로 수요가 감소했고 경쟁사가 물량 증설을 해 가격 경쟁이 심화하며 실적이 지속해서 악화하고 있다"고 설명했다..
