한국초전도저온학회, “초전도체 아니다”

(출처=연합뉴스)국내 한 연구소에서 상온 초전도체라고 주장한 물질 ‘LK-99’에 대해 “초전도체가 아니다”라는 결론이 나왔다.노벨상 수상감이라며 초전도체株로 달려갔던 투자자들이 멈칫하면서 초전도체 관련주들은 8월 4일 일제히 급락했다.서원(-18.77%), 대창(-17.78%), LS전선아시아(-15.93%), 고려제강(-14.63%), 이구산업(-12.8%), 덕성(-10.63%), LS네트웍스(-9.11%), 인지컨트롤스(-8.99%)가 동반 하락세를 보이고 있으며, 코스닥시장에서도 모비스(-20.45%), 국일신동(-16.83%), 신성델타테크(-14.60%), 원익피앤이(-12.17%), 파워로직스(-13.12%), 피피아이(-9.06%), 비츠로테크(-7.53%), 티플랙스(-6.23%), 한양이엔지(-5.68%), 상보(-4.44%)가 모두 내림세를 보였다. 서남은 거래가 정지됐다.연구소의 결론이 나오기 전까지만 해도 ‘덕성’은 3375원(7월 26일)에 거래되던 주가가 9690원으로 187% 넘게 올랐고 ‘대창’은 전일 가격제한폭(29.99%)까지 오르는 등 이상 급등 현상을 보였다. 투자과열종목으로 지정된 종목들도 다수 있었다.이와 같은 갑작스러운 초전도체 대란에 일부 기업은 “(우리 기업은 초전도체와) 연관성이 없다”고 공식적인 입장을 밝히기도 했다. 대정화금은 “당사는 초전도체와 관련해 퀀텀에너지연구소와 구리 등을 포함한 거래 내역이 없다”고 해명했다. 파워로직스, LS전선아시아 등은 사업보고서에 초전도체와 관련한 내용이 없어 논란이 일었다.초전도체 대란은 7월22일 퀀텀에너지연구소에서 논문 사전공개 사이트 ‘아카이브’를 통해 “상온, 상압에서 초전도성을 갖는 물질 LK-99를 세계 최초로 만들었다”고 발표하면서 불거졌다. 특히 미국 로렌스버클리국립연구소(LBNL) 연구원이 31일 아카이브에 국내 연구진 발표를 뒷받침하는 내용을 게재하면서 박차를 가했다.그런데 8월4일 한국초전도저온학회는 “초전도 현상은 특정 물질이 전기 저항이 없어지고 내부 자기장을 밀어내는 마이스너 효과를 보이는 것을 뜻한다”고 설명하면서 LK-99에 대해 “초전도체의 특징인 마이스너 효과를 보이지 않아 초전도체가 아닌 것으로 결론 내렸다”고 발표했다.
