 정부가 조성한 모태펀드인 글로벌 펀드를 출자받아 운용할 해외 벤처캐피탈(VC)들이 선정됐다. 글로벌 펀드의 목적은 국내 기업의 해외 진출 등을 지원하는 것이다.선정된 VC들은 대부분 초기 단계 스타트업에 투자하는 곳들이다. 국내 기업 가운데 카카오, 토스, 컬리, 팀블라인드 등에 투자한 VC들이 눈에 띈다.한국벤처투자는 지난 1일 이같은 내용을 담은 '2023년 해외 VC 글로벌 펀드(모태펀드) 출자사업(일반분야) 최종 선정결과'를 공지했다.앞서 지난 5월 한국벤처투자는 해당 출자사업에 대한 계획을 공고한 바 있다. 출자 규모는 779억원 내외, 출자 분야는 일반분야와 국가·국제기구 협력분야로 나뉘었다. 국가·국제기구 협력분야 선정 결과는 앞서 발표됐다. 최종 선정된 곳들의 글로벌 펀드 출자액 합은 775억원(5920만달러) 규모다.일반분야에 출자되는 글로벌 펀드는 국내 중소·벤처기업의 성공적인 해외 진출과 글로벌 벤처 생태계 조성을 위한 성장단계별(창업·성장·회수) 투자 목적을 가진 펀드다. 국가·국제기구 협력분야에 출자되는 글로벌 펀드는 정부 또는 국제기구가 출자자로 참여해 결성하는 펀드로, 양국 간 상호투자와 양국 시장 진출 지원 등 국가 간 협력 또는 국제기구와 공익적 협력을 목적으로 한다.해외 운용사뿐 아니라 해외 운용사와 국내 운용사가 공동운용(Co-GP)사로 참여하는 것이 가능했다. 이는 일반분야 선정 우대 기준이었다. 글로벌 펀드 약정액 이상을 한국기업에 투자, 글로벌 펀드 약정액 이상의 해외 출자자 참여 등 기본 조건도 붙었다. 출자비율은 펀드 규모의 최대 40%, 출자액은 최대 130억원(1000만달러)이었다. 일반분야에 총 45개 조합이 접수했다. 최종 선정된 조합은 7개다. 전체 경쟁률이 6대 1을 넘어섰다. 지역별 경쟁률은 △미국 4대 1 △유럽·중동 5.5대 1 △아시아 10.5대 1을 각각 기록했다.선정된 운용사들을 국가별로 보면 미국지역 △DCM △SOSV △지스퀘어드(G Squared), 유럽·중동지역 △쿠르마파트너스(Kurma Partners) △그레이하운드캐피탈(Greyhound Capital), 아시아지역 △헤드라인아시아(Headline Asia) △MDI-KB인베스트먼트(Co-GP) 등이다.
