핀토크 /사진=머니투데이올해 상반기 실적 발표와 함께 금융지주 내 보험사의 가치가 재평가되고 있다. 보험사의 실적이 업계 주요 금융지주 간 '리딩금융' 자웅의 성패를 갈랐다. 보험 포트폴리오가 약한 금융지주들의 니즈도 가시화 되는 추세다. 보험 관련 M&A(인수합병) 시장이 보다 활기를 띌 것으로 전망된다. 4일 금융업계에 따르면, 하나금융그룹이 지난 1일부터 KDB생명 인수를 위한 본실사에 들어갔다. 현장 실사보다는 가상데이터룸(VDR)을 이용한 실사가 우선 진행 중이다. 하나금융은 지난달 7일 마감된 KDB생명 매각 입찰에 참여해 우선협상대상자로 선정됐다. 인수에 문제가 없다고 판단되면 KDB산업은행과 주식양수도계약(SPA) 계약을 체결하는 과정을 거친다. 인수가격협상도 그 시점에 중점적으로 이뤄질 것으로 전망된다. 현재 KDB생명 대주주인 KDB산업은행은 연내 계약을 마무리 하는 것이 목표다. 하나금융그룹은 이미 중소형 보험사인 하나생명을 가지고 있다. 자산 약 20조원의 KDB생명과 약 6조원의 하나생명이 합치면 자산순위 9위 생보사가 탄생할 수 있다. 여기에 더해 하나금융은 중국 다자보험이 매각의사를 가지고 있는 ABL생명에도 관심을 보인다는 이야기도 나온다. 3개사를 합쳐 다른 금융그룹에 밀리지 않는 라인업을 갖추려 한다는 관측이 제기되고 있다. 하나금융 뿐만 아니라 우리금융그룹도 보험사에 대한 관심이 높다. 금융지주 중 유일하게 보험 및 증권 계열사가 없다. M&A 우선순위를 중권사로 보고 있긴 하지만 보험사도 유력한 검토 매물 대상이다. 금융지주들이 이처럼 보험사에 관심을 보이는 건 여전히 건실한 실적을 올리고 있고, 해당 성적이 금융지주 간 경쟁에서 중요한 역할을 하고 있어서다. 올해 상반기 실적에서도 보험사 성적이 '리딩금융'을 갈랐다. KB금융그룹이 2조9967억원의 순익으로 2조6262억원의 신한금융을 제쳤다. 금융권에서는 비금융, 특히 보험실적에서 성적이 양사의 순위를 갈렸다고 평가한다. 실제로 KB의 주요 계열사인 KB손해보험은 올해 상반기 5252억원의 순익을 냈다.
